Weight Room Rules
GENERAL WEIGHT ROOM RULES
- Do not lift without proper supervision.
- Use all equipment properly and consistent with its designed purpose.
- Know the proper lifting techniques for all exercises performed.
- Use appropriate weight. Do not lift beyond your capacity.
- No horseplay in the weight room.
- Spotters are required on all pertinent lifts.
- Proper clothing is required. Wear clothing that does not restrict movement, but is not too loose to obstruct movement.
- No flip flops, sandals, boots, or dress shoes allowed.
- Provide adequate lifting area to the lifter.
- No gum, food or drinks in the weight room.
- Safety bars must be used on all exercises that require them; furthermore, they must be placed at an appropriate height to be affective.
- For squat the hook height is set for the shortest person in the group.
- Clamps are used for every exercise that uses a bar; i.e., curl bar and straight bar.
- Put all weights up after use; including between sets.
