Weight Room Rules

GENERAL WEIGHT ROOM RULES

  1. Do not lift without proper supervision.
  2. Use all equipment properly and consistent with its designed purpose.
  3. Know the proper lifting techniques for all exercises performed.
  4. Use appropriate weight.  Do not lift beyond your capacity.
  5. No horseplay in the weight room.
  6. Spotters are required on all pertinent lifts.
  7. Proper clothing is required.  Wear clothing that does not restrict movement, but is not too loose to obstruct movement.
  8. No flip flops, sandals, boots, or dress shoes allowed.
  9. Provide adequate lifting area to the lifter.
  10. No gum, food or drinks in the weight room.
  11. Safety bars must be used on all exercises that require them; furthermore, they must be placed at an appropriate height to be affective.
  12. For squat the hook height is set for the shortest person in the group.
  13. Clamps are used for every exercise that uses a bar; i.e., curl bar and straight bar.
  14. Put all weights up after use; including between sets.
