Goals of Law Enforcement Class
This program is designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the field of public safety. Students receive instruction in different areas of public safety. The Program Goals:
1. To provide students with learning experiences in public safety.
2. To provide students with an understanding of the fundamentals of the functions and operations of fire services, law enforcement, the courts and corrections.
3. To enable the students to understand the integral nature of the law to a democracy.
4. To prepare students for employment in a wide variety of public safety occupations.
Students who continue into the advanced levels of public safety get into the criminal justice areas of public safety. Some of the areas covered in the advanced levels are Police Procedures, Criminal and Constitutional Law and Criminal Investigation.
