Center Policies & Procedures
Our goal is to make the media center the heart
of the school. We desire to make it a warm and inviting place where
students, staff, and parents feel welcome and enjoy learning.
We have approximately 15,000 books, tapes, and
other resources available for checkout. We subscribe to 26
magazines and 2 daily newspapers.
Hours of Operation
7:25-7:45 before school
8:00-2:00
Check-out
Books may be exchanged daily.
Kindergarten & 1st grade - 1 book/ 1 week
2nd grade - 2 books/ 1 week
3rd - 5th grades - 2 books/ 2 weeks
Books may be renewed if no one else has requested the book.
Fines
No fines are charged for overdue
books. Students are encouraged to return books on time out of
consideration for others. A student with an overdue book will not be
allowed to check out another book.
Lost/Damaged Items
Books checked out to a student are
his/her responsibility. Cobb County policy states that lost or damaged
items must be paid for.
Flexible Scheduling
The media center remains open
throughout the day. Students may come at any time alone or in small
groups to exchange books and conduct research. Teachers may sign up
for a time to bring the entire class for instruction, research, or any
number of other reasons.
