Interesting Fact About Me:
I am the fifth generation of educators in my family. (Teaching must run in my blood…I got an early start when I was young because I would teach my dolls and stuffed animals! Even back then, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher! )

Interesting Fact About Me:

I love to "play in the dirt" (garden) and watch my "critters" (birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and an occasional raccoon or opossum.

This is Lewis Elementary’s 21st year and I have had the privilege of being here since the beginning. Before Lewis, I taught first grade at Cottondale Elementary in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Union Elementary in Paulding County and Eastvalley Elementary in Marietta, Ga.

I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and grew up in Anniston, Alabama. I graduated with a BS in Education from the University of Alabama, many years ago.

In the spring of 1973, I met a wonderful Maniac (from Maine) named Bob. We have been married thirty-four happy years. We have three grown young men. David, 29, a UGA graduate who’s married and lives in Colorado; Stephen, 27, also lives in Colorado and just got married this summer; and John 25, a Furman graduate who’s married and lives in South Carolina.

After twenty-four years, I still love teaching. I consider it an honor when past students come back to visit or come in for their morning hug. I think it’s awesome that they still remember me and want to be around me. I’ve had many good years here at Lewis, working with a very supportive team. Lewis is a great place to be!
