5. Report of Principal:
Principal Chris Richie reported to
the school council on the status of council membership. After utilizing the
call out and putting the information on the web, no interest had been
generated to fill the open council slots. We are still short one parent &
one business/parent for the council. Discussed doing another call out after
the break as well reposting on the website.
6. Old Business:
7. New Business:
ITBS Scores – 8th
graders at McCleskey scored fairly well. Scores are consistent with
previous years scores. McCleskey students scored above the Cobb average.
Foundation Update – McCleskey will
pursue starting a foundation.
McCleskey 188 – Dr. Abraham has
indicated that he wants to host a forum at McCleskey to discuss the zoning
of McCleskey to make it a 100% feed into Kell. Currently, McCleskey has
about 30 8th graders who attend Sprayberry.
Financial Update – Technology will
continue to be a focus. Social Studies just received 9 LCD projectors to
use in the classrooms. Math and Reading/LA needs to be the next focus.
CRCT Update – We have set up a lot
of interventions to ensure that students are getting the remediation they
need to be successful on the CRCT. We are closely monitoring the progress
of our subgroups. As a faculty, we are moving towards data driven
instruction so that we know where the strengths and weaknesses of all of our
students are.
