MINUTES OF THE McCleskey Middle School

school council meeting

October 2, 2007 
 
 

The McCleskey Middle School Council met in regular session on Tuesday, October 2 @ 7:30

AM in the Media Center. 
 

School Council Members present:  
 

Dr. Chris Richie (Principal)   Mr. Dan Bailey (Business)

Ms. Claire Lyons (Assistant Principal) Ms. Robin Davis (Parent)

Ms. Diane Wilson (Teacher)  
 

School Council Members absent:   
 

Ms. Sylvia Controy (Teacher) 
 

Five members were present, representing a quorum.

1.  Call to Order  
 

Chris Richie called the meeting to order at 7:45 AM

2.  Pledge of Allegiance  
 

Chris Richie led the pledge of allegiance to the United States flag.

3.   Approval of Agenda 
 

Chris Richie distributed the agenda posted pursuant to the Open Meetings  Act.  Moved, seconded, and carried that the school council approve the agenda as presented. 
 

MOTION: Claire Lyons  SECOND: Diane Wilson 
 

VOTE: (    5 ) YES; (    0 ) NO

4.  Approval of Minutes 
 

Chris Richie distributed the minutes of the April 17 meeting of the school  council.

No one had seen the minutes from the April 17 meeting so the minutes were passed out for approval at the November 13 meeting.  
 

7.  Old Business: 
 

No old business was brought to the chair 
 
 

8.   New Business: 
 

Adoption of New Bylaws – The state has changed the make-up of the Council, therefore, 

            new bylaws must be adopted.  Proposed  Bylaws were passed out for the Council to review

            & to be voted on at the next meeting. 
 

Training CD was distributed to members.  Members choose to watch the CD & then pass it

On to another member to view. 
 

Meeting dates for the 2007-08 school year were set:

A copy of the proposed 2007-08 Instructional Budget was given to Council members 
 

2007-08 AYP Goals were discussed 
 

School Improvement Plan was discussed.  Rather than passing out the document, it is

           Available on the school website for review. 
 

Open:

Starting a foundation for McCleskey – Claire Lyons is going to a meeting in a couple of weeks to find out about the process.  
 

Kroger Card & how to make sure we are maximizing our donations 
 
 

Adjournment  
 

With no further business to come before the school council, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 am
