The day with the students begins at 8:35 a.m. when we start
meeting the students at the buses. We then prepare for the day by organizing
our materials and reviewing the schedule.
After Home Room we have Social Literacy a Social Skills class
directed by our Social Worker
First period is currently Reading. Some students are out
for their Connections or academic classes.
The second period is primarily Science which is addressed
on several skill levels.
Our third period is a Language Arts period. Some connection
classes occur also.
In the fourth period we are caught in an interesting mix
of 6,7,8 grade time schedules which has some of us out to Connections or
others having lunch.
Fifth period has students at P.E. or a Language Arts based
activity.
In the sixth period you will find most students completing
Math assignments.
Seventh period is focused on Social Studies. If all work
is done, there may be time for a few minutes of casual time.
After this we total our points, adjust our levels and move
on out to the buses and home at 4:00.
(Friday)
On Friday our scheduled is quite different. The first part
of the day is focused on Community Based Instruction (C.B.I.) where we
go off campus for pre planned activities.
The second half of the day can be a combination of academic/social
activities based on whether or not they have earned sufficient points through
the previous week.
