of PTA Scholarship –
This is a $1000.00
need-based scholarship that WILL be awarded to one student at
McEachern! Eligibility requirements: you must be a PTSA member (it
is not too late! Contact Ms. Beckham Sawyer, our PTSA president, and
join today!); 2.5 or higher GPA; letter of acceptance from chosen
college/university; SAT 1350 or higher (out of 2400). Deadline:

The Georgia
Society of CPAs 2008 High School Residency Program –
This program is designed to provide an introduction and
overview of the many opportunities in the world of accounting. It
introduces students to accounting and what to expect in college.
There are 2 programs available: June 8-11 at Georgia Southern
University; July 13-16 at The University of Georgia. The program is
FREE to all participants – students will be selected to attend the
program; you need only send a $25.00 refundable deposit with the
final paperwork if selected. Applications available in the BT
Office. Deadline April 7, 2008.
CSCA Service
Scholarship –
A non-renewable
$500 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving graduating senior.
You must have served as a peer helper, peer mediator, peer tutor, or
done some other type of service work; minimum GPA 2.5. Applications
in BT. POSTMARK Deadline April 9, 2008.
CSCA Counselor
Son/Daughter Scholarship
– A non-renewable $500 scholarship will be given to the son or
daughter of a CSCA member (Cobb School Counselor Association).
Parent must have been a member of CSCA for a minimum of 3 years.

Julian & Jan
Hester Memorial Scholarship Fund –
Given by the
Community Bankers Association of Georgia (CBA). Open to GA high
school seniors entering a GA college (2 or 4 year school) in the
fall 2008. CBA will award at least four (4) $1000 scholarships to
this year’s candidates. Completed applications must be submitted to
the Association through a CBA member community bank. Applications
available in BT Office. Deadline to turn in
application to a CBA member bank: April 11, 2008
Powder
Springs Woman’s Club Scholarship – Once again, the Powder Springs Woman’s Club is
offering two (2) scholarships to two high school seniors, one
graduating with a Career Tech diploma and one graduating with a
College Prep diploma. Recipients can use the scholarship money for
any school-related expenses. Recipients must be U.S. citizens,
submit a complete application, a senior picture, two (2) teacher
recommendations, two (2) peer recommendations, and an essay.

The Smyrna Golden
K Kiwanis Club –
A scholarship
program is available for Cobb County seniors that are in need of
financial assistance for college expenses. The award recipient will
get $4,000 over 4 years of college. Applications available in the

Alpha Iota Delta
of Chi Psi Fraternity – Bethel Scholarships (GA Tech) –
A scholarship opportunity for incoming Georgia Tech students!! Two (2)
scholarships of $1,000 each are being offered to qualified young men
entering GA Tech in the Fall 2008. They are available to any senior
male students who will be graduating from high school in 2008 and
will be attending GA Tech. Award recipients must best exemplify the
ideals of the fraternity. Applications available in the BT Office.

The Atlanta Braves
High School Scholarship Program
– Presented by Publix Super Markets to graduating seniors in
Georgia. Six (6) $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students
who have demonstrated strong community service involvement as well
as solid academic performance during their high school careers.
Scholarship recipients will be honored during a special on-field
presentation prior to the Atlanta Braves home game on May 18, 2008.

Summer Science
Institute –
Now accepting
applications from high potential students with an interest in the
sciences. Qualifying candidates are students that are interested in
science, would value an opportunity to work on a research paper with
a graduate student, works well in groups, and imagine a career in
science. Ideal candidates for SSI have shown an interest in
science, but have only been performing at the average level
academically. SSI provides science enrichment and academic skills

Andrew J. Oswald
Memorial Scholarship Program – Andrew Oswald played lacrosse for Pope High School and
currently still holds Pope’s record for the most single season
goals. Lacrosse was his passion. Sadly, Andrew died in July 2005
due to injuries sustained in a car accident. This program seeks to
honor Andrew’s memory by promoting the growth of lacrosse in
Georgia, and by supporting the academic endeavors of those who love
the game and plan to play lacrosse in
college. The scholarship is $1,000 per year for 4 years in
college. To be eligible, you must have made contributions to the
sport or to your team; also, have made contributions to your school
and community. Applications available in the BT Office.

English Language Study Scholarship (GA State University) - Ayn
Rand Institute - is pleased to announce its annual Essay Contest
for high school students. This competition is open to all 11th
and 12th grade students. First prize is a $2,000

Georgia Perimeter
College – Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority
Participation (PSLSAMP) Summer Bridge Program –
This 5 week
program, funded by a National Science Foundation grant, is a great
opportunity for students who plan to attend one of the Alliance
institutions as a science, computer science, engineering, or math
major. Your will receive hands-on experience in many area of
science, math, computer science, and engineering, and explore many
career opportunities. Students completing the program receive a
$750 stipend. Go to

Cobb County Farm
Bureau –
will award a
total of $7,500 in scholarships to two (2) high school seniors who
plan to pursue a college degree in agriculture and environmental
sciences, family and consumer sciences, or a related agricultural
field. The top student will receive a $5,000 scholarship, and the
runner-up will receive a $2,500 scholarship. Eligibility: must have
parent, legal guardian, or a grandparent that is a member of the
Cobb Co. Farm Bureau as of April 25, 2008. Also, you must plan to
enter a unit of the University System of Georgia or Berry College
during the 2008-2009 academic year and plan to pursue an
undergraduate degree in agricultural and environmental sciences,
family and consumer sciences, or a related agricultural field.

The Georgia
Caribbean American Heritage Coalition Mentoring Program –
The purpose
of this program is to assist in the area of youth leadership
development, focusing on GA high school seniors. The program
provides selected students with opportunities for internships with
reputable Caribbean-owned businesses and other GA businesses as
well. If you are interested in completing a one-month internship
before graduation, see Ms. Beck in the BT Office for referral

The Latin American
Association - has several scholarships/resources available for students of Latin
American descent who plan to attend a four year college or

US Navy
- is pleased to offer its annual NAVY ROTC scholarship for 11th and

Labs are Vital
Scholarship Contest
– “Labs Are Vital” is a global program sponsored by Abbott
Laboratories to highlight the important role clinical laboratory
professionals play in healthcare. They have developed a scholarship
contest on Facebook, the popular social networking site. Students
will be challenged to find an innovative way to illustrate to their
peers why clinical lab science is a cutting-edge and rewarding
profession to pursue. The contest is open to students who have
completed the 10th grade. A total of three $2,500
scholarships, six $1,000 scholarships, and nine iPhones will be

QuestBridge is
pleased to announce this year’s College Prep Scholarship, which
helps outstanding low-income high school juniors compete for

Nordstrom
Scholarship Program
– This program is offered to high school juniors and will be
available beginning in February 2008. To be eligible, students must
be a high school junior with an un-weighted cumulative GPA between
2.7 and 4.0, have made a substantial contribution to the community,
be involved in school activities, and demonstrate financial need.
Applications will be available on February 1, 2008. Nordstrom will
award five scholarships in the amount of $10,000 each to be paid in
annual installments of $2,500 over a four-year period. See BT

Washington University at St. Louis
- is pleased to announce its annual High School Summer Scholars
Program. This program is open to all 11th grade students
who plan to attend a four-year college or university after high
school. Participants will have an opportunity to take classes with
college-bound seniors from around the world. The program will take
place June 8th 0 June 12th or July 3rd
– August 15th. Applications and additional information

– The Eta Sigma Chapter is currently in the recruitment phase for
their 58th Annual Debutante Ball. This process
involves the selection of young ladies who exhibit the

ladies who meet these qualifications are encouraged to apply. If

9th
Annual Summer Leadership Academy at University of West GA
– The Honors Leadership Academy for Young Women is hosting a
leadership academy on the campus of UWG called LEARN to LIVE
Together. This program is open to young women in the 7th
grade and above who participated in Duke University’s TIP program.
This summer’s program is scheduled for July 6-11, 2008. They
encourage bright young women to take advantage of the lower Early
Application Fees and be in the running for the few partial
scholarships that they have for attendees. More information is
