Absence and Tardy Procedures

It is very important that students are at school when ever they are well.  Please plan family vacations around the official CCSD school calendar.  Students who are running a fever or have a communicable illness should remain at home until they are well.  Please keep in mind that excessive absences (15 and over) count against the school when trying to achieve Annual Yearly Progress as defined by No Child Left Behind.

Absence Procedures

Students need to bring a written excuse to their classroom teacher when returning to school from an absence.  When the child receives medical care from a medical professional an excuse from the medical office should be submitted.

Absence notes need to include:

  • Date note is written

  • Students First and Last Name

  • Teacher's Name

  • Date(s) of Absence

  • Reason for Absence

  • Signature of parent, legal guardian, or doctor

Tardy Procedures

Student should be brought into the school by an adult and signed in with his/her first and last name, teacher's name, and time on the student sign in and sign out sheet.  This is located at the desk in the lobby.  The student will be given a tardy pass and will proceed to their classroom.
