Here we are standing in an area called the Twin Lakes. This clear blue lake is very cold. The mountain behind us is Mt. Elbert and at 14,433 ft, it is the highest mountain in Colorado. |

| Both of us were happy and excited to ride up on the highest paved road in North America. It is called Independence Pass. At the top, it is call the Continental Divide. | |

This is the Black Mountain Canyon outside of Montrose, Colorado. Although these walls are very steep, this canyon is home to falcons, chipmunks, and even deers. |
