Director of Bands

Michael Reid is beginning his first year as director of bands at Osborne High School.  For the past 6 years he served as director of bands at Griffin Middle School in Smyrna, Ga.  Under his leadership the Griffin band grew from 75 students to over 200 students.  He founded a jazz band as well as a symphony orchestra.  During his tenure at Griffin he improved concert attendance from 50% to 95%.  The band gave numerous community performances as well as two performances in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Mr. Reid is a product of the Cobb County School District having attended Mabry Middle School and graduated from Lassiter High School.  He went on to Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA and earned a Bachelor's of Music Education degree.  He also earned a Master's of Music in Music Education from Georgia State University in Atlanta in 2004.

Mr. Reid currently resides in Powder Springs, GA with his wife Lauren who is a wedding photographer.  Mr. and Mrs. Reid met when they were in their high school band together.  They have 2 children, Faith, 4 years old, and Burke, who was born in March of 2005.

Color Guard Instructor

Nicole West is entering her 3rd year as the guard instructor at Osborne High School.  She has done work for numerous color guards across the state.  She is a graduate of Marietta, High School and currently attends Kennesaw State University and marches in the Georgia Tech Marching Band.
