One of my teachers recommended Rebecca to me when I was a student in high school. It was one of my first introductions to the romance of the French Riviera and the beauty of the English countryside. When I was finally able to visit both, I found them to be exactly as Daphne du Mauier had painted them in the story. My love of those places continues today.
