The Testament by John Grisham

John Grisham is one of my favorite authors. He has a way of telling a story that intrigues me. Although he usually writes books about lawyers, he has written three short novels that I recommend: Skipping Christmas, A Painted House and Bleachers. I have my favorite "lawyer story" of his in this picture.

"The Testament" is a great adventure story as well as a study of human nature. The title is taken from a very rich man's last will and testament and how it changes the lives of a greedy attorney and, of all people, a missionary. My favorite part of the book is when the attorney presents the missionary with the will and she basically says "not interested." This book will take you places that you may never be able to see in person as well as into cultures that you may not want to experience.
