Ender’s Shadow by Orson Scott Card

The books I posed with are an example of the different types of reading I like to do. I read many times for information pertaining to a subject that I want to learn more about. As a baseball coach I am always interested in the different aspects of the game I love. I have read The Head Game by Roger Kahn, several times to try and get an idea of what makes the great pitchers great.

I also like to read books that are classic literature such as The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Dafoe to try and understand the way that people think from different eras. The way people have addressed the political, social, religious and racial issues of the time period that was written about can give you an idea of what people thought in a given period of time.

My favorite way to read is as an escape from the worries of the world today. I love every book that I have read as part of the Ender Wiggin Saga. There are several books in this collection including the book I posed with, Ender’s Shadow by Orsen Scott Card. Mr. Card is an excellent writer that can paint a picture for your mind to discover. He describes everything in elaborate detail and then will add several aspects that may or may not be real. Fantasy and Science fiction books are an excellent form of relaxation for me because of these qualities. I highly recommend authors like Piers Anthony, Anne McAffrey, Terry Brooks and Orsen Scott Card, because of the leap from reality.
