What is DECA?

"DECA" is a co-curricular, student-centered organization specifically designed to provide activities that will motivate secondary/postsecondary students to learn marketing, management and entrepreneurial competencies that will prepare them to become skilled, employable workers in the field of marketing."

Here’s some of the activities that DECA does:

  • DECA Fall Leadership Conference

  • DECA Night with the Hawks

  • Halloween Hikes for Kids at the Chattahoochee Nature Center (community service)

  • DECA Competition

  • Silver Comet 10K Road Race (community service)

  • Down to Earth Day Kids Fest at the Chattahoochee Nature Center (community service)

  • End of the Year Party

DECA Competition

Each year, DECA students have the option of competing in various marketing events, such as Apparel, Marketing Math, Interviewing, and Business Speech.  This year, Pebblebrook DECA sent 9 students to the regional competition along with students from over 20 other high schools.  The competition was strong and most of the Pebblebrook students were not only first-time competitors but also new to the marketing program as of this semester.  Although inexperienced, Ronshalee Sparks worked hard preparing for the Advertising event and managed to secure herself a position in the State competition.  Congratulations to Ronshalee!
