Business Law Y is designed to develop a basic knowledge of the legal system and how business law impacts commerce domestically and internationally. Areas of study include sources of the law and structure of the court system; ethics and the law; procedural law and substantive law; contract law; law of sales and consumer law; agency law3 and employment law; personal property and real property. Commercial paper, insurance, secured transactions and bankruptcy; wills and trusts; impact of technology; and environmental law and energy regulation. |

Banking examines the basics of the banking system including the history, various types of financial and non-financial institutions, role of the FDIC and the state and federal laws that impact the banking industry. Banking operating procedures, terminology, and the credit function of banks are also studied. Must be taken concurrently with Finance. |
