Math Department


The following is a listing of the math classes offered at PHS.  Not all classes are offered each semester.  Classes are taught in 90 minute blocks.  Three units of math (including Algebra I) are required for a Career/Tech Prep diploma, four units (including Algebra I and Algebra II) are required to obtain a College Prep Diploma.
Algebra I:  Part One Parts I and II, together, fulfill the Algebra I requirement for graduation.
Algebra I:  Part Two
Algebra I Fulfills the Algebra I requirement for graduation
Informal Geometry  
Euclidean Geometry An honors level course is available
Algebra II An honors level course is available
Algebra III
A study of polynomials, basic trig functions, conics, systems and other mathematical topics
Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry   
Analysis A pre-calculus (honors level) course for the student who intends to take Calculus in high school
AP Statistics An advanced placement course.  Students should have completed Adv. Alg./Trig with a B or  better or have teacher recommendation.
AP Calculus An advanced placement course.  Students should have successfully completed Analysis.
