Media Center Resources

The Pope Media Center provides many essential services to teachers and students at Pope High School which support teaching and learning. Our curriculum based collection promotes and supports student learning and achievement. The Media Center is an exciting, busy hub of activity that students and staff eagerly utilize.


Checkouts

Over 20,000 items are available for student and faculty check-out.
A computer network of 64 Internet ready workstations provide access to resources in the Media Center, selected on-line databases and a networked class set of wireless laptops, as well as to the World Wide Web.* Our book collection is available to both students and teachers. Audio-visual material (such as DVDs, videos, CDs) and technical equipment may be checked out by a teacher. The Pope Media Center uses Destiny for library management automation.

Databases
On-line databases are available on the Pope Media Network which assist students in research via our Media Resources page Home access to these databases is available to all students. Current passwords are available in the Media Center.

Use of the Media Center
The Media Center is open Mon.- Fri. from 7:30 AM until 4:30 PM. We have 34 desktop workstations and 30 wireless laptops available for classes and individual students and staff. Classes regularly meet in the Media Center for instruction on research skills and work on class assignments. Students may come to the Media Center during class or lunch with a pass from a teacher for quiet study. *Internet Policy
Pope students must abide by the Cobb County Acceptable Use Policy (Requires Adobe Reader) in order to use the Internet at school.
