Mission Statement
The mission of the Powder Springs Elementary Media Center is to provide an inviting program that offers students, teachers, and the community resources to become life-long learners through technology and reading achievement.

The PSE Media Center is truly the "hub" of the school. The Powder Springs Media Center has more than 17,000 items in its collection to support reading for enjoyment and student research projects.

The Powder Springs Media Center has 14 multimedia computers. Each computer can be used as a look-up station as well as a work station for students and teachers. Along with many valuable programs, each computer has Internet access.

Powder Springs Elementary School would like to thank the Lost Mountain Chapter of the Kiwanis Club for donating books to our media center.

Policies and Procedures
The Powder Springs Media Center is open from 7:15 am to 2:40 pm each day. Students may return books to the Media Center from 7:15 to 7:35 every morning. However, checkout does not begin until after morning announcements, usually around 7:55. Students must have a library pass from their teachers in order to visit the Media Center throughout the day.

Students in Kindergarten, first and second grades may checkout one book at a time. Students in third, fourth and fifth grades may checkout two books at a time. All students may keep their books for up to two weeks. Any student who has not finished reading a book within the two week period may renew his book for an additional two weeks.

Students are responsible for all books they checkout from the media center. If a book is damaged or lost while checked out to a student, he/she will be responsible for paying the cost of replacing that book. Students will not be allowed to checkout another book until payment is made. Report cards of those students who owe payment or books to the media center at the end of the school year will be held.
