Riverside Guidance Department

Riverside has three counselors currently assigned. The names of the counselors are Mr. Tolbert, Mr. Bullard, and Mr. Oliver. Mr. Tolbert is completing his thirteenth year at Riverside and is currently working with grades 3^rd thru 5^th. Mr. Bullard is completing his fifth year at Riverside and is currently working with grades K thru 2^nd. Mr. Oliver is the newest member to the Riverside counseling team and is currently working with all grades involved with the Student Support Team and Teacher Led Collaboration.

The counselors are involved with designing a guidance program that meets the needs of all students. The overall focus of the program is to provide assistance, guidance, consultation, and collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and administration in the areas of academics, career, and social development. The purpose of this endeavor is to make our students ready to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century both academically and emotionally.

Students, parents, and teachers can request the services of the counseling department in the form of individual and group counseling. The hope of the counseling sessions is that the students will be able to return to the academic environment and be successful.
