The Partners in Education program is sponsored by the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce, the Cobb County Public School System and the Marietta City School System.

PHILOSOPHY:

    Education is the key to the future. The Partners in Education program aims to enrich the learning experience for Cobb children, contributing directly to the quality of life for coming generations. An organization is matched with a school, a class, or a school program to volunteer support, extra funding, or unique services matched to the school's needs.

BACKGROUND:

    After a Cobb County Chamber task force researched various partners programs throughout the country, the Partners in Education program was established in 1986. The Cobb program is designed to be flexible in scope and time commitment to encourage involvement by a variety of businesses.

GOALS:

    Partners in Education aims to:

    • motivate students to learn
    • recognize end encourage teachers
    • foster good school-community relationships

ADMINISTRATION:

    The program is administered through the Cobb Chamber Education Department and is guided by a volunteer committee made up of educators and business people.
