MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
I am so proud to be a part of this district and to have spent most of my
career here. After having served 35 years as an educator, 34 in Cobb
County, the time has come for me to retire from my position as principal
at Simpson Middle School and spend time with my family.
My entire adult life has been spent educating students in Cobb County, and
all my years have been both happy and fulfilling. I will take with me
many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.
I have had so many opportunities in my career. I have served as a
business education teacher at Awtrey, North Cobb, and McEachern; LSS (pre-ALT’s)
at McEachern; administrative assistant and assistant principal at
Harrison; assistant principal and associate principal at Osborne; and
principal at Simpson. I have worked with many of the educational giants
in Cobb’s history, from my first principal, Kermit Keenum, to Fred
Sanderson. Along the way, I have also worked with Jill Kalina and Lynda
Martin. I have learned from these fine people and many others. Not many
people can say they have had such a fulfilling career that has lasted so
long. I am glad I have had the privilege of serving our young people.
It has been a pleasure to serve as principal of Simpson Middle School.
I’d like to express my appreciation to all the staff at Simpson. I am
proud to work with all of you, and I am continually amazed at the wealth
of talent on our faculty and staff. I am extremely blessed to be able to
call Simpson my “second home.” I truly thank you for what you do for our
students and for each other every day. You are the BEST!!
A special thanks to my administrative staff for their support and
encouragement.
Parents, thank you for your continued support of our students and
community. You are one of Simpson’s greatest assets. It has been a
pleasure working with all of you.
Sincerely,
Sharon Jordan, Principal
SIMPSON MAKES AYP—GREAT JOB!
This year, Simpson again made the AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress)
required by No Child Left Behind Act. Congratulations to all our
students and faculty who worked diligently this school year. To see the
detailed AYP report, please go to
Georgia Department of Education website.
We would like to invite all of you
to visit the Blogs of each teacher. All you need to do is go
to the Simpson Website and click on "Teachers Blogs." This will open
a new world for you. You will be able to visit with each of your
student's teachers. You will learn what is happening in each class.
This will enable you to become a part of your child's learning process.
Please take the time to visit each teacher's Blog on a regular basis.
