School Council 07-08

SCHOOL COUNCIL MEMBERS NEEDED

 

All Georgia schools are required by law (HB1187) to have a School Council made up of staff, community partners, and parents. This group meets at least 6 times a year. The purpose of the School Council is to bring schools and the community together in a spirit of cooperation. The council provides advice, recommendations, and assistance to the principal and local school. The work of the council is to support student achievement and performance goals.

 

WE NEED YOU! To complete our council for the 2007-08 school year we need two additional parent members to be elected by the parents for this position. Please consider nominating yourself or another parent to serve on the council. Council members serve a two year term. Traditionally, the council has met at 7:00 am six times a year. Please contact Dr. Navarro at 678 594-8287 if you would be interested in this opportunity to be involved at your child’s school. Nomination forms will be available at the front office beginning the week of July 23, 2007. Parents will elect the 2007-08 members during the month of August.
