Teasley Elementary School is located in the
southeastern section of Cobb County known as Vinings.
The school district is bordered by the Chattahoochee
River, Highway 41, Cumberland Mall, and Atlanta Road
In 1962, the Cobb County Board of
Education purchased land along Spring Hill Road in
Smyrna, and designated it as the site for an elementary
school. The school was named for Roy Teasley, the
first principal of nearby Fitzhugh Lee Elementary
School. The Roy A. Teasley Elementary School was opened
in Septemeber 1963, and served grades 1-8. Presently
Teasley is home to children in grades K-5.
Teasley has always been known for
its unique family-oriented atmosphere. Parents and
students have indicated an appreciation for the small
school size, for the acceptance by others, and for
the caring staff. Teasley takes great pride in supporting
the overall welfare of its family member, whether
it is students or staff. It is this sense of a neighborhood
school that makes Teasley unique.
