Announcing Our 2008 T-shirt Logo Design
a

The North Metro Regional Technology Fair has a new logo for 2008!  Several of Cobb County middle and high school students designed original, pure black and white artwork, and competed in our technology fair logo contest.  Camille P., a Freshman at Kennesaw Mountain High School, created this winning design using Paint and MS Word.

Camille won an iPod nano, compliments of the Cobb County Instructional Technology Department.  Camille's original design will be printed on all student and worker t-shirts at the 2008 North Metro Regional Technology Fair.   Congratulations Camille!

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Every student who enters the logo competition has to complete an Artist's Statement about the what, how and why of their artwork.  Here are a few words from Camille:

About the Process...
My logo is a computer with a winking face. Out of the computer extends an arm with a claw that is holding up the 'N' in the North Metro and extending from the other side is a chain with a pair of scissors pointing toward the word 'Regional'. Underneath the computer are the words 'Technology Fair' with an arrow pointing towards the word 'Fair', and connected to the computer is a cord that is connected toward the number two in the bottom right corner. For the date '2008' I used a gear as the first aero and inside of it is a mouse, the date is located in the bottom right corner.

I made the entire logo in Microsoft Word and Paint. I made the shape of the computer, the claw, the scissors, the cord and the chain in Paint, and used Word Art to create the words and used the basic shapes tool on Microsoft Word to create the arrow. I edited all the pieces in Paint, and then I rearranged them in Microsoft Word.

About her Choices....
The world as we know it is definitely moving quickly in its technological advancements. Computers are being used every day to do just about everything. You hear new and amazing things that computers are being programmed to do on a daily basis. Almost everyone comes in contact with a computer every day. I think that computers are becoming the basis of technology because it connects the whole world together, and they can basically be programmed to do a wide variety of things. It's interesting to watch the world of technology grow, and with the computer it is easy to see that happen.
