Our school, in coordination with the Timber Ridge Foundation, is forming a team to run or walk in the 3rd Annual NIKE 5K For Kids on Saturday, March 8th at 8:00 am at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. 100% of our entry fees will be donated to Timber Ridge Physical Education programs. In fact, $60,000 will be raised for Greater Atlanta Area schools that day! By designating Timber Ridge on your registration form, your registration fee will be returned to our school.
You may choose between a 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk or a 1 Mile Run/Walk option. This is a family-friendly event, so parents and children are encouraged to participate together. We hope that you, your family and friends will consider joining our school at the race. The cost is $20 per person. This includes a $15 registration fee that is donated to our school and a $5 t-shirt fee. Participation is limited to the first 4,000 entrants and the race is expected to sell out. Step 1: You may mail in your application form with payment directly to NIKETOWN at the address on the entry form by February 27th. Or, you can register online at www.nike5Kforkids.com by February 29th. Because the race is expected to be a sell-out, on-line registration may be your best bet. Even if you are unable to participate, you can still register, support Timber Ridge, and receive a t-shirt!
Step 2: Pick up your race packet and t-shirt at NIKETOWN on Wednesday, March 5th or Thursday, March 6th from 2-7 PM, or Friday, March 7th between 10AM – 6PM. Please note that if you sign the waiver on the race form, someone else can pick up your packet. However, one person cannot pick up more than ten packets, so coordinate with your friends and neighbors if you will not be able to make the trip to NIKETOWN.
Let’s help get our kids moving and give them the means to do it. We know that active kids are happier, healthier and more likely to make positive life choices. Plus your entry fee will go directly to Timber Ridge for play and athletic equipment for our Physical Education department.
