School Foundation Auction
At TR, each classroom creates a one-of-a-kind item for the TRESF Auction in March. Planning & prep has been going on for weeks already & it is time to ask for donations . If you have anything on the list below & wish to donate it, please contact Marge Cavitt mcavitt@juno.com as she will arrange pick up. The TR working days will be most Wed, Thurs & Fri beginning Jan 16th-Feb 29th during lunch hours. If you would like to work with the students, please email Marge with your grade level & dates available.
Wish List: Wood chairs or stools, plain white cotton dinner napkins, black Sharpie acrylic paint pens, Mod Podge, water-based acrylic sealer, chalkboard paint, Michael's and Hobby Lobby coupons and gift cards, paper napkins or tissue paper with popular characters (Spongebob, UGA and other sports teams), sandpaper, empty glue bottles, and old hardsided suitcases in good condition. THANK YOU!
Timber Ridge’s Widener-Bega Scholarships
The Timber Ridge PTA is pleased to announce the Widener-Bega Scholarships, available to graduation seniors at Pope & Walton High Schools, who are also Timber Ridge alumnus. The scholarships are awarded to the graduating seniors who best exemplify the Timber Ridge motto of “Learning, caring, and sharing together.” The scholarship is named the Widener-Bega Scholarship in honor of its founders, former principal, Mary K. Widener and former PTA President, Beth Bega. There are 3 $500 scholarships available, one each to a Pope & Walton graduating senior and a 3rd to a graduating senior from either school who has achieved an outstanding record and has been identified with a diagnosed learning disability. Please pick up an application from your counselor, Debbie Aubrecht at Pope or Charlene Elliott at Walton. You can download an application here as well. Completed applications are due March 31, 2008. The Scholarships will be awarded in early May 2008.
