Mrs. Patterson’s Third Grade

ABOUT THE TEACHER

This is my fifth year at Tritt, teaching 3rd grade, and it is my eighth year teaching elementary students.  I enjoy the thrill and excitement third graders get out of learning new things and expanding their minds!  It is not only my job, but my honor to give children the opportunity and encouragement to become responsible citizens who respect themselves and others. I believe high expectations and a positive learning environment give students the ability to find a love for learning, receive a quality education, and prepare them for the challenges of the future. I have been married for two years to Bart and we have a little girl, Ella, who will be two in November.  We live in the East Cobb area with our 5 year old yellow lab, Jaxson.

MISSION FOR THE CLASS

My class at Tritt Elementary School is a place where individuality is encouraged and respected, creativity is limitless, and being comfortable
is guaranteed. I will join hands with the community to provide each child with positive stepping stones to the future.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Our school day begins promptly at 7:45. It is very important that your child arrives on time and is in the classroom at that time. I find that children who ride the bus enjoy the opportunity to relax and socialize with their classmates before the school day officially begins at the bell.

Children may bring their own lunch from home or they may purchase a cafeteria lunch. Milk or juice may also be purchased in the cafeteria.

Children may also bring a simple, nutritious snack (please, no high sugar or messy foods) for a morning and/or an afternoon snack. The students are allowed to eat their snacks whenever they are hungry.

I will pass out a monthly "Specials Schedule” at the beginning of each month so that you and your child will be informed.  It is especially important to know when we have P.E. so that your child is dressed appropriately.

Please remind your child of any change in routine for going home before leaving school. We also need a written note indicating the change. Children become very anxious if they are not sure of where to go after school or who will be picking them up. Safety for our students is our utmost concern, and we want to get them home safely.

One final reminder that is very important is to make sure that all school supplies, including backpacks and clothing (sweatshirts, jackets and sweaters) are labeled with your child's first and last names. It makes it so much easier to return any lost items to their rightful owner.
