Tritt PTA Programs

What does the PTA do for you?
· The PTA cares about all children.  It is a strong advocate, locally and nationally, to influence legislation that affects children.
· The PTA is a leader in reminding our nation of its obligations to children.
· The PTA is here to help unite parents, teachers and the community for the common good of all children.
· The PTA through its volunteers promotes home school communication.  It brings parents and teachers together.
· Your membership makes it possible for the PTA to serve children.

MEMBERSHIP DUES
$10 for both parents or $5 per person.  We encourage both parents to join. Reaching our goal of 100% participation helps fund quality programs offered by the PTA at Tritt.

Arts in Education
Our goal is to provide a quality educational program of highly skilled artists who inspire and encourage young people to develop their creativity.

Community Outreach
The goal of the Community Outreach Committee is to educate our children about the needs of others and to provide an opportunity to respond to those needs.

Family Donations Program
In lieu of multiple PTA fundraisers, the Family Donation Program was established to help fund a multitude of enrichment programs for our children. The PTA asks for a voluntary donation of $15 per child or a maximum of $30 per family to ensure the continuity of established programs and the development of new ones.

Parental Involvement
This parent committee, in collaboration with the school, establishes programs and practices that enhance parent involvement and reflect the specific needs of students and their families.

Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is an annual event which is part of a nation-wide campaign to call attention to the devastating effects of drugs on individuals, families and communities. The "Red Ribbon" became a signal to reduce the demand for drugs and to stop its illegal use. The week's activities are geared toward reinforcing a determination in our students to live healthy, drug free lives.

School Store
The Tritt Student Store is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:25 to 7:50 am. We strive for a high level of student involvement as well as provide a convenient way to purchase basic school supplies. Fourth grade students may participate as sales associates. Fifth grade students may participate as sales associates or members of the Board of Directors. All School Store personnel are supervised by Tritt PTA parents. The School Store student volunteers learn how to handle money and to deal with other students as their customers. One of our goals is to broaden and reinforce the students' math skills and also to teach them to use a computer spreadsheet. This project is open to fourth and fifth grade students with a wide range of math skills.

Spirit Day
Every Friday is Spirit Day and the children are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing their Tiger T- shirts or wearing the Tritt school colors.
