Field Trip to Emory
University to tour the Nursing Program and Clinic.
We listened to a registered nurse, a professor, and
an admissions counselor from Emory School of
Nursing. We took a tour of the school and
visited the clinical lab. Students were able
to see a dummy give birth. The dummies were
also able to simulate a variety of situations
including a heart attack. Students could then
bring the dummy back to life using an external
defibrillator. The students also visited a
room in which they could look inside each others'
ears, mouths, and eyes. They were able to test
reflexes. They also used a state-of-the-art
machine that took their blood pressure, pulse, and
temperature.
