The teachers of the Walton
Gifted Department are the gifted certified teachers teaching honors
or advanced placement classes and the teachers with 10 hours in
gifted characteristics teaching the advanced placement classes.
These teachers encourage
gifted students to effectively utilize their capacity to think,
reason, comprehend, and know about a subject. They also stress
sensitivity, flexibility, openness, the ability to set aside
established conventions when appropriate, and evolve novel
solutions.
The strength of the need to
do serious work as shown by persistent effort is also important.
