Week of August 15

SHARE

Good afternoon Campbell Families,

We have completed two full weeks of school and the adjustments of students' schedules. We are off to a great start of the school year! We wanted parents to be aware of our school's three major goals for this school year- 1.) Increase our CCRPI score (school's report card) from 77.1 to 80, 2.) Increase our graduation rate from 87.3 to 90, and 3. Develop a systematic manner in which we recognize, acknowledge and reward our students for their academic achievement and display of good character.  We were able to hold assemblies with our 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students last week. We held the 9th grade assembly the first week of school. We will send out the PowerPoint for the assemblies that were held last week as soon as we get them translated to Spanish.

Some of the major topics that were discussed during those assemblies and the areas in which we need parents' assistance by talking to your student(s):

1.) Tardies- School starts at 8:20 and students have 8 minutes in between classes and are expected to attend their assigned lunch period and return to class on time. Students are expected to go to the front office and check in with attendance when they arrive to school late. (This excludes students who arrive on a late bus.) The staff is finalizing a tardy policy that will include consequences for excessive tardies. We will share it with students and families as soon as it is finalized. 2.) Cell phones-   Students are permitted to have cell phones but should not use them during class time. 3.) Student laptops- Students are expected to bring their Cobb County issued laptops to school daily. If parents have Opted-In on Parentvue for your student to get a laptop, they may go the Learning Commons (Media Center) to pick up the laptop before school 7:30-8:15 AM or during the school day with a pass. 4.) Student Dress Code- We are using the Cobb County Dress Code which was reviewed with students during the grade level assemblies. Please ask your student what was discussed. A copy will be included in the PowerPoints sent later.

Please share the information below with your student-
