Principal's Message

We want to thank all of our families who came to our PTSA Open House last Thursday evening. Information was shared by our PTSA and the CHS Foundation. Parents/Guardians were able to meet their student's teachers and get valuable information about ways to help their students succeed this year.

School Safety and Safety for Athletic and School Events

Our goal is to keep all students safe, therefore we ask that parents communicate with your student that they are expected to leave the building at 3:45 unless they are scheduled to remain after school with a teacher for an activity or athletic event. An announcement is made every afternoon at 3:45 PM.  For our athletic events on game days, we ask that all students who are not associated with an organization or athletic event that is performing or supporting the game, to also leave the school at 3:45.  Tickets may be purchased on GoFan.  Our football games start at 7:30 PM,  and the gates open at 6:00 PM.  The games usually end at 9:30 PM. Students may not bring any kind of bag into the football game, and there is no re-entry into the game.  For all students' safety, we need our parents' assistance with picking up their student on time. We will send a text message close to the end of the third quarter asking that parents begin to come to the school. Students are expected to be picked up no later than 45 minutes after the game ends.  Students who are not picked up at that time, will remain with our campus officer until the parent arrives. We had students waiting for their parents until after midnight at our first home football game, and were very concerned for their safety. We are also creating a Cannot Attend List for students who will not be able to attend events due to their misbehavior at school or school events. We will forward those details when they have been created and students will receive that information when they receive their disciplinary consequence. Please remind your student that the same code of conduct that is expected during the school day is also expected before and after school at all athletic practices and games, clubs, fine arts, and other school events.
