Week of September 19



 As we approach the Fall Break for the week of September 26-30, we want to ask all of our parents to encourage your student to relax and spend time with family and friends. However, we also want to ask parents to check Parentvue to determine if your student has any missing assignments or low test grades. This is a perfect week to get caught up before the next grading period in a few weeks.  Campbell offers many opportunities for students to recover when grades are low or when students fail a class, but prevention is a much better strategy.  We also ask that parents stay in communication with teachers and counselors throughout the school year.  There are links below for Credit Recovery Classes and Power Surge Saturdays.  We also want to invite ALL of parents 9th - 12th grades to come out this Thursday, September 22, from 6-8 PM for our College Info Night lead by Campbell's Counseling Department. Come and get your questions answered and plan for your student's future beyond high school! Thank you and enjoy Fall Break!

Consider a Donation to the Campbell High School Education Foundation!

Dear Parent,

I would like to personally ask for your support. As the current Vice President of the CHS Education Foundation and International Baccalaureate graduate & Valedictorian Class of 2003, I know first hand the value of a Spartan education. To this day, I continue to use the knowledge I gained from my time at Campbell and I am here to ask for your support.  The Foundation sponsors two College and Career Counselor positions, dedicated to helping students prepare for life after high school. Your donation represents direct invest into improving the educational experience of all 2900 students (the largest student body in Cobb County). In the plainest of words, if you are looking for a worthy place to donate your hard earned money, look no further.   I joined the Foundation to directly donate my time, effort, and money to improving the high school which taught me so much and to which I owe a debt. I hope you will join me in monetarily supporting our Spartans.

The dates and times for the SAT/ACT are in the attachment below. Both tests are college entrance exams and all students are encouraged to register and take both or either of these tests. 

Senior News

Please look for the Senior Seminar PowerPoints in English and Spanish in an upcoming newsletter. Seniors attended the Seminars with our counselors last week.   Advanced Placement (AP) Exams:  Registration/payment for AP Testing begins September 6. If your student is enrolled in an AP Class for fall semester, he/she will be receiving information this week from their teachers regarding registration and payment for exams. Fall semester and year-long classes will have until November 13 to register for their exams. If you are taking AP classes in the spring, you will register and pay for those classes next semester. AP testing will take place in May.  ALL Senior Herff Jones Orders are due on November 18, 2022 through atlgrad.com.  Please see flyer for details.

Announcements and Shout outs

  • On Friday, September 23rd during the school day, 10th grade students will participate in a hearing screening. Students who do not pass the hearing screening will be re-screened. If students do not pass the second time, parents will be notified by mail.  
  • Laptops needed daily- We ask that students bring their laptops fully charged each day so that they are ready to use for each block of instruction.

Parking Update

  • We will be able to sell a limited number of spots for student parking in the Ward Street lot (the new lot across from the Gwyn-McClure gym). The window to upload forms will re-open Monday, September 19th at 4:00pm, no paper forms will be accepted. You may find all the forms and the link to upload them on the Campbell website Parking page along with all eligibility requirements. The spots are available on a first come, first served basis and once the cap is reached the form closes. The link will close Thursday, Sept 22 at 4:00pm or when all spaces have been sold – whichever comes first.
  • Decals will be distributed first to students with a complete (all paperwork completed with signatures where needed, valid GA DL and valid unexpired insurance) application, and then students with paperwork issues that need to be resolved will be reviewed if spaces remain available.
  • Parking paperwork will be reviewed for completeness and you will be contacted using the e-mail you enter when you upload the documents so please use one you check often. Successful applicants will be given payment information, and decal pick up will take place after the break. You will receive a response notifying you of your status when forms are reviewed.
