Week of October 31

SHARE

Parents/Guardians, Students, and Staff,

We want to again remind our parents and students that tomorrow, October 31, is the end of 2nd 6-week grading period. We have only six weeks remaining in this grading period and our End of Course Tests and End of Pathway Assessments for Elective classes will begin in early December. Students still have an opportunity to talk to their teachers to turn in missing assignments and prepare for upcoming quizzes and tests.   Parents, please note that tomorrow is a regular day of learning despite being Halloween. Students are discouraged from wearing a costume, but if they choose to wear one, the county and school dress code policies are still in effect, and masks of any kind and any plastic weapons- swords, etc. are not permitted.   We have so many wonderful students in our school and have various events and activities to share and celebrate with the community. Please take a look at the Bright Side article where Campbell's students and their accomplishments last year and the beginning of this year are featured in an entire page ad.  Read the Bright Side at www.brightsidecobb.com

Congratulations to the Antigone Cast and Crew for winning the title of Region Champions in the One Act Play Regional Competition in Carrollton on October 28! The cast and crew will be heading to the State Championships on November 19! A video of the Antigone performance from Oct. 13-15 also now available. Our Spartan family far-and-wide can see CHS Theatre in action: https://www.campbellhightheatre.com/one-act-antigone.html

For the safety of all students, we want to remind parents and students that all students should leave the building each day no later than by 4 PM unless the student has tutoring or is involved with a club or sport. Students must be with a teacher after 4 PM each day.

Thank you,
Dr. Watkins

  • Turner Chapel AME College Fair.  Turner Chapel AME Church will host their in-person annual College Fair on November 5th from 11am to 3pm.
  • The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test ASVAB will be given on Thursday, November 3, in room 306 (computer lab). ASVAB is phasing out their paper/pencil version and will be administering a computer-based version of the test. For that reason, we have limited space to the first 30 students to sign up, juniors or seniors only. The sign up is in flyer below. Please let Jana.Loftin@cobbk12.org know if you have any questions.
  • Naviance is a delivery system and college/career search engine, but it also how we communicate with students, parents, and guardians, throughout the year.  Specifically, •    Your college application process begins with Naviance. Every college you apply to needs to be added to your Naviance account as well.  •    Naviance is also where juniors & seniors use to sign up for college visits, because it’s connected to the system that connects us with college admissions staff (through a system called “RepVisits”).
  • Junior Advisement.  Here are the remaining fall junior advisement dates:  November 7th, November 9-11.  Parents will be signing in throughout the day to come to their scheduled appointments. *Dual Enrollment Students: Mrs. Loftin will be contacting you about Junior Advisement.
