Superintendent’s Priorities

  1. Make Cobb the best place to teach, lead and learn.
  2. Simplify the foundation of teaching and learning to prepare for innovation.
  3. Use data to make decisions.

Instructions: Select two goals connected to the Superintendent’s priorities.  Indicate which priority your goal is connected to and the actions, and evidence needed to meet the intended outcome. The reflection stage will be completed after measuring success with your intended outcome.

School: Campbell High School                        Principal:             Vanessa C. Watkins

Superintendent’s Priority:

Use data to make decisions

Initiative (Goal):

We will increase the percentage of students who score at the Proficient or Distinguished Levels in Algebra I on the combined EOC by 3-5%

Critical Action: (What actions are necessary and by when?)

Increase the number and percentage of 9th grade and repeating 9th grade students who are given the Math Inventory at the beginning of each semester. Work with the math department leadership to develop and implement an Intervention Plan for the students who score at the bottom 10% on the MI. Utilize Delta Math Plus as a resource for these students.

Evidence: (How do we monitor progress?)_

We will monitor the progress by reviewing the progress of lesson plans, common assessments, interim assessments and first semester EOC results for Algebra I. Ensure that teachers who teach this content are writing lesson plans that focus on the priority standards and that the teachers are actively engaged in the CCC process, and that they use CTLS assess to develop common assessments and use interim assessments. Teachers will also be expected to utilize the 360 degree classroom model with whiteboards.

Outcomes: (How do we measure success?)

We will measure success by reviewing the common and interim assessments and the EOC test results when we receive those results.

Reflection: (What do we do if goal is met or not met?)

If the goal is met, we will celebrate and duplicate those results the following year. If the goal is not met, we will review our action and monitoring progress to determine what needs to be changed.

Superintendent’s Priority:

Simplify the Foundation of teaching and learning to prepare for innovation.

Initiative (Goal):

Teachers will use CTLS assess to develop common assessments and monitor student assessment results with interim assessments

Critical Action: (What actions are necessary and by when?)

Professional development will be provided for the staff throughout the year to ensure that teachers know how to use it effectively.

Evidence: (How do we monitor progress?)_

Progress will be monitored through visits of CCCs and data sharing from building leadership team members and the Admin team.

Outcomes: (How do we measure success?)

Success will be measured by the number and percentage of teachers who are using CTLS assess for their common assessments and the interim assessments.

Reflection: (What do we do if goal is met or not met?)

We will celebrate and continue our practice if our goal is met and readjust and make changes if our goal is not met.
