Getting Started
August 1 is the first day of the new school year. We can't wait to start the 2022-2023 CLIMB at the Mountain. Don't forget, during the first week of school, dismissal times always take a little longer. So, be patient, kind, and safe.
Staff will be located throughout the halls and on the front porch to help any student located their classes and know where to go. Any student with a scheduling need will be able to receive assistance as well. Staff will also work with all students to ensure they know where to go after school and what bus to ride home. If your child will ride a bus, click here to locate your bus number. To download the Here the Come App, click here.
To help you plan for your adjustment to middle school, below is an overview of what a typical day looks like.
Arrival Times/Pick-Up Times
First period begins 9:15 am and the end of the day is at 4:15 pm. No students should arrive on campus prior to 8:30 am and all students should be off campus by 4:45 pm (which is the end of the office closes). All students arriving on campus will enter through the cafeteria located at the front porch. Students arriving between 8:30 am and 8:50 am will have morning study hall time in the cafeteria. Students arriving after 8:50 am and students who were in morning study hall because they arrived on campus prior to 8:50 am will go to their lockers and then homeroom.
Students arriving after the 9:15 am bell will need to sign in tardy at the Main Office.
Breakfast
Breakfast will be available for pick-up in the cafeteria between 8:50 am and 9:10 am and eaten in homerooms.
At 8:50 am all students will be released to their lockers and then go to their homeroom teacher. Students arriving after 8:50 am should go to their locker and then report to their homeroom teacher. Homeroom is sixth and seventh grade students first period class. For eighth grade students, homeroom is students fourth period class. At 9:15 am first period will begin for sixth and seventh grade students. They will remain in their homeroom class as it is also their first period class. At 9:20 am eighth graders will transition from homeroom to first period.

Locker Usage/Backpacks
Lockers nor locker combinations should be shared. Cell phones should always be kept in lockers. Students will have access to their locker four times a day: upon arriving to school, before lunch, after lunch, and at the end of the school day. Backpacks should be kept in lockers. Students should get materials for classes scheduled before lunch upon arriving to school. Materials from classes before lunch will be placed back in lockers and lunch boxes may be picked up going to lockers prior to lunch. After lunch, students may return lunch boxes to their locker and get their materials for the afternoon classes. At the end of the school, students will return to their lockers to get any materials they need to take home.
Students who have PE/Health will also have a locker in the gym area. Students should not share this combination either.
Dismissal
Dismissal will be at 4:15 pm. Students walking home or being picked up from school must use the cross walk located by the bus port. Students in 7th and 8th being picked up in the car rider line must remain under the front porch of the school until their ride arrives in the car pickup lane (beginning where the banners are and ending at the front doors). For safety, students will not be able to walk through the parking lot and car pick-up lines. Students in 6th grade being picked up in the car rider line must remain at the Memorial Garden until their ride arrives in the car pickup lane (on the left side of the building where 6th grade is located).
