McEachern Wins Team of the Week

October 22, 2025—Powder Springs was the place to be last Friday for the region matchup of two top-10 football programs in 6A, the state's highest classification. A region championship, a perfect 8-0 record, and local bragging rights were all on the line when McEachern made the three-mile trip to Hillgrove. In the end, it was McEachern that powered past Hillgrove with an impressive 35-14 victory.

"We knew exactly what we wanted to do," said McEachern Head Coach Kareem Reid. "I was really, really pleased with our players. We had the best week of practice we've had since I've been here, so I expected us to play well, but I was really impressed with how we won. I think we had two penalties the entire game. It was a really clean game for us and that's what makes me most proud."

For their dominant performance, McEachern earned Georgia High School Football Daily’s "Team of the Week," presented by BSN Sports and Siemens. The award was officially presented to the team at the school's practice field on Tuesday.

McEachern Indians Team of the Week

Now sitting at 8-0, McEachern is a strong favorite to close out the regular season undefeated—something the program hasn’t done since 2019. A win this Friday against South Cobb will secure the Region 3 championship for the team and home-field advantage in the first two rounds of the postseason. It would also be Coach Reid's second region title in his three seasons leading the Indians.

"It's the culmination of a lot of hard work," Coach Reid said about the award. "The players, coaches, and administration have all been super supportive of everything since I took over the program. It means a lot to be recognized, but our ultimate goal is the state championship. This is what we're working towards every single day."

McEachern Athletic Director Myra Camese had nothing but praise for Coach Reid and the Team of the Week when asked how proud she was of them.

"Proud is an understatement!" she said with a smile. "As Athletic Director, I couldn’t be more thrilled to see our football team recognized as the Team of the Week. This honor reflects their hard work, discipline, and dedication, both on and off the field. Congratulations to our coaches, players, and the entire program for representing our school with excellence!"
