Run for a Great Cause: The Second Annual Olivia Kate's Path 5K

January 20, 2026 — Olivia Pugh was a Harrison High School senior who was tragically killed in December 2023. Her parents, Tara and Randy Pugh, created the Olivia Kate's Path 5K to keep Olivia's spirit and love of life alive.
The 5K benefits the Olivia Pugh Strength and Shield Scholarship, managed by the Cobb Community Foundation. The name is derived from Psalm 28:7, the guiding verse for Olivia's life and view of the world.
"We had just under 700 participants last year," said Tara Pugh. "We awarded three scholarships to Harrison seniors last May in the amount of $3,333 each. Three was Olivia’s favorite number! We are hoping to make it even bigger and better this year!"
The second annual Olivia Kate's Path 5K will be held on Saturday, February 28. Cobb County Police will be on-site to support the race and direct traffic. The course will begin at Harrison's track, proceed to Due West Road with a turnaround at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church, and return to Harrison for the finish.
The race will be chip-timed by Elite Race Timing, and medals will be awarded for best overall times and for various age groups from Under 10 to Over 70. Runners signed up by February 14 are guaranteed a commemorative race shirt in their size. Teams of five runners or more receive a discount on their registration. The race can also be run virtually for those out of state wishing to participate and show their support.
