2013 K-5 Summer Reading Program
The CCSD's Media
Department has partnered with the Cobb County Public
Library to create complementary summer reading programs!
For the first time ever, the two organizations
collaborated to create programs that support one another
and provide the best resources and experiences for
children during the summer months.

As the end of the school year approaches, we
begin encouraging our children to stay involved in
reading over the summer. We are all aware of the
“summer slide” that occurs when students do not read on
a regular basis and begin to fall behind in reading
achievement. To prevent this, we would like to share
with you a national, state-led summer reading initiative
that supports students in finding great books to read
over the summer.
Georgia is launching the 2013
Summer Reading Challenge to combat this summer loss in

Security Protocol at Bullard
The buzz-in door lock
system has been installed at the main entrance of
our school. It will
take effect on Monday, April 29..
This feature will keep the main entrance door locked
at all times except 7:15 a.m.-8:10 a.m. on school
days. Outside of that time, all guests will need to
“buzz-in.” Part of the system includes a box
outside of the main entrance door that is equipped
with a door bell and a camera. Staff members
working in the front office will receive an alert
when a guest arrives and rings the bell. The office
staff will be able to see and hear the guest, and
once the guest presents a picture ID and indicates
the nature of the visit, the office staff member
will “buzz” the guest in, asking them to report to
the main office to sign in.
