  • Doors open at 7:15 a.m.
  • Classes Begin at 7:50 a.m.
  • Dismissal Begins at 2:20 p.m.

School Out at 12:20 May 22 and 23

The last two days of school before the summer break, Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23 will be early release days. The students will be dismissed two hours early beginning at 12:20. Please make any necessary arrangements for your child's afternoon care if you will not be home on those afternoons.

Buzz-In System Now in Place visitor at the door

Our school has a new system for entering the building through the front doors.  With this new system, visitors need to "Buzz-In" after 8:10am.  We know everyone will have many questions about the new system, so our principal has written a letter to fill you in.

We have been named a 2012
National Blue Ribbon School 2012National Blue Ribbon School!
Hendricks Elementary - formerly Austell Intermediate - has been named as one of only 219 schools to be awarded the National Blue Ribbon for 2012. We are one of seven public schools in the state of Georgia to receive the award this year. We are so very proud of our students, teachers and community for everything they have done to bring about this recognition of excellence given by the United States Department of Education.

Kindergarten and New First Grader Registration
(If your child is already enrolled in Kindergarten, you do not need to register for First grade.)

We will hold Registration for Kindergarten and New First Graders on Wednesday, March 27, from 8:00am - 11:00am. To register for Kindergarten, students must be 5 years old by September 1, 2013. Children who will be 6 years old by September 1, 2013, may register for First Grade.   Remember -- you only need to register for First Grade if you did not attend a public school kindergarten in Georgia.

Parents, please bring along the following documents when registering:
    - The child's birth certificate
    - Hearing-Dental-Vision Form (form #3300)*
    - Immunization Form (form #3200)*
    - Social Security Card
    - 2 Proofs of residency [for example, current utility bill, current mortgage papers, current driver's license, etc.]

* medical forms are vailable from a doctor's office

Safety First in the Fire Lanes
Reminder from the CCSD
Department of Public Safety


Per the Fire Marshall's Office, no one is allowed to park in a Fire Lane, whether there is a driver in the vehicle or not, at any time other than the following:

•30 minutes prior to the end of the school day and 30 minutes after the end of the school day (this does not include the After School Program nor any other activity at the school)

•passengers actively loading or unloading during the day (this would cover students unloading in the morning at the beginning of the school day)
