Hendricks School Council
Looking for Committee Members

What is a School Council?  It is a group of parents and Hendricks staff who meet to discuss ideas for improving our school. We value our school council members and we appreciate the time they give in the two-year terms they serve.

We will need three new parents to replace those whose terms are ending this year. For complete information, please read this letter from our Principal, Patrick O'Connell.  Also available is this document outlining details of what a School Council is all about as well as a list of our current members.

Have you heard about the awards and achievements Hendricks has earned lately? We are a great school, and much credit goes to those who serve on committees such as the School Council.  Please consider adding your voice to our advisory board!

Hendricks Named Title I Reward School

The Georgia Department of Education has named Hendricks Elementary as a Title I Reward School.  As a Title I Reward School, Hendricks was in the High-Progress category which means that we were in the 10% of Georgia's Title I schools which made high progess on statewide assessments over three years.

This is an extremely high achievement and we are very proud to receive this honor.   To read the full details of this award and view a list of other schools being honored, please download this flyer.

We Beat the Odds!

In addition to the prestigious "Title I Reward School" status, Hendricks Elementary has also earned recognition as a "Beat the Odds" school.

This was given for the accomplishments our students have made in spite of economic hardships in our area.  We are proud of our staff's great effort and the support of parents and community as a whole for their support!

How Are We Doing?
Your Voice Counts in the Parent Survey

Each year, the state of Georgia conducts a survey of parents to get a better idea about our School Climate.  We need all our parents to join in and let the voices of our community be heard!

Please take time to answer the survey by clicking on the link below.  Responses are anonymous.

Georgia Parent Survey

Thank you.  The Hendricks staff strives to make our school the best possible one for our students.   We listen to parents and consider their opinions as we shape our school for our community's needs.

Phenomenal Friday!
Mrs. Dutton Named Cobb Teacher of the Week

duttonHendricks Elementary was surprised on Friday, August 26, 2016 with a visit from the Cobb County Phenomenal Friday team. Students were greeted upon arrival by the Chick-fil-A Cow and some very sweet dogs from the Mostly Mutts rescue organization. It was an exciting way to start our morning!

One fifth grade student, Haley Gregory, was selected to name the teacher who had inspired her the most during her years at Hendricks. Haley named our Target teacher, Rachel Dutton, who was then honored as the Cobb Teacher of the Week.

To read the full article on the CCSD website as well as to enjoy some great photos of the day, please follow this link or checkout the CCSD homepage.

Georgia Parent Survey

At Hendricks, we strive to serve our community to the best of our ability.  Would you please answer a few questions about how we're doing?

The Georgia Parent Survey is modeled after the student survey and contains 24 questions. Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet.

All parents are  encouraged to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.

Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online

The work our teachers, support staff, front office and administrators do is important to our school. It is a full time job keeping a great school great!

We wouldn't have a lot of the special 'extras' that sets Hendricks apart if it weren't for the hours that our volunteers give to our school.

If you would like to be a Hendricks volunteer, please check out all the ways you can help on our Parent Involvement page.

We hope to see you around!
