What is the flu?

Influenza (the flu) is an infection of the nose, throat, and lungs caused by influenza viruses. There are many different influenza viruses that are constantly changing. Flu viruses cause illness, hospital stays and deaths in the United States each year. The flu can be very dangerous for children. Each year about 20,000 children younger than 5 years old are hospitalized from flu complications, like pneumonia.

2018-19 School Choice

The Cobb County School District is again offering School Choice (HB 251) transfers for the 2018-2019 school year. Individual school capacity information and applications will be available beginning February 5, 2018 on the District website. For more information, please see our 2018-19 School Choice webpage.

Deadline for applying is Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Congratulations to Dyanna Motes! She was awarded with a $500 grant from Cobb EMC yesterday. She will use the grant to incorporate increased opportunities for student movement in the classroom. J




The Kemp Elementary Book Blasters did an awesome job at Cobb County‚Äôs Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl on January 13, finishing 2nd  out of 26 elementary schools. As one of the top two teams, Kemp will advance to the Regional Competition at University of West Georgia on February 10. Good luck in the next round,  Book Blasters!



  

Our school is part of the One Small thing campaign.  Our teachers and students all decided on one small thing they can do to make the world better.  Our counselors and Miss Cooper organized a school wide activity during class meetings to share our #onesmallthing!  What is your one small thing???
