Welcome to our new principal, Ms. Harmeyer!
We want to welcome Ms. Harmeyer to the Nicholson community!  She comes to us from Mt. Bethel Elementary, where she has been Assistant Principal for the past 5 years.  Her career as a speech teacher began at Nicholson 16 years ago, so this is really a homecoming for her! 

Summer Office Hours--Monday - Thursday 8AM until 5PM
Due to meetings and other events, please call before arriving to make sure someone is in the office.                

Nicholson Summer Reading Challenge begins May 24th!
Will you read 1500 minutes this summer??  Summer break is made for sun, fun, rest and relaxation!  But, what's a great way to cool down after fun in the sun?  Reading of course!! Reading regularly over the summer keeps your brain sharp, and opens your mind to new vocabulary, ideas, and information!  This year, students can log their reading minutes in a program called 'Biblionasium'.  Log in details and step by step instructions were sent home on Thursday, May 16.  (look for a bright orange flyer)  All students who participate will be invited to a Summer Reading Celebration after school begins.  If you prefer, a paper reading log can be downloaded below.

Supply Lists
There are two options for purchasing supplies for the upcoming school year!  You can purchase items at your favorite store using the 'Supply List', found at the link below.

Meet and Greet:  Tuesday, July 31,  8AM - 9:30AM
Come meet your teacher and new classmates for the 2018-2019 school year!  This is your chance to get important classroom information, bus routes and schedules, register for the after school program (ASP), set up meal accounts with our Cafe and get PTA information!  Ms. Harmeyer and the staff of Nicholson look forward to greeting returning faces and those new to Nicholson!

Send in those Boxtops!!Image result for boxtops
Did you know that each boxtop can bring in 10 cents for our school?  The next submission date is at the end of October, so now is the time to turn in any boxtops you may have collected at home.  You can find boxtops on all sorts of products around the house!  Have your children keep an eye out for them and when you are ready, boxtops can be turned in at the Media Center.

Student Dismissal Policies
Dismissal is one of the most important times in our day.  We work hard to ensure that our students get to their afterschool destination safely.  We will not take transportation changes over the phone, via fax or via email.  This is a safety measure that we MUST enforce to keep your child safe.  The Nicholson Transportation Change form, with a signature, must be sent in with your student in order for us to change your student’s afternoon transportation.  If the student arrives in the morning without this form the parent/guardian must come into the front office to fill one out since a signature is mandatory. 

If you are picking up your student at dismissal and do not have a carpool tag, it is necessary for you to come into the front office and show identification before we can release the student into your custody.

All early dismissals or transportation changes must be received before 1:45 pm.

Please review with your children!

1. Students are expected to be silent.

2. Students are expected to sit in their zone.

3. Students are expected to follow staff directions.

*Staff will be handing out Star Bucks during dismissal as positive reinforcement.

*If parents do not have their car tag, they are expected to come inside to sign out their child. This is to ensure your child’s safety.
