CCSD School Transfer Applications
Available Online

The Cobb County School District is again offering School Choice
(HB 251 and SB10) transfers for the 2017-2018 school year.
Beginning Wednesday, February 1, 2017, parents/guardians can apply
for the transfers. The district will only accept online applications.
In order to provide access to the application,
a kiosk is available in the lobby of the CCSD Central Offices at 514 Glover Street.

RISE UP - Win Within!

Monday- Rise Up in Red Monday (Come decked out in red)

Tuesday- Touchback Tuesday (wear your clothes backwards)

Wednesday- Sock it to the Pats Wednesday (wear your craziest socks)

Thursday- Dirty Bird Black Out Thursday (come decked out in black)

(Wear any and all the Falcons gear you can find)
It is ok to wear red and black, if students do not own Falcon gear.
We do not want students to feel they need to purchase anything to participate!!!!

Survey says.......

We invite all Nickajack parents/guardians to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey.  The data from the survey will be used as part of the calculation of Nickajack's School Climate Star Rating. 

The survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.  The survey may be taken on any device - personal computer, tablet or smartphone. Click on the link below to begin the survey.

Nickajack families collected 9,077 box tops during our fall campaign!


The classes listed below turned in the most tops in their grade level and earned a popsicle/ice cream party!  Way to go!

A Phenomenal Friday @ the Jack!

Congratulations to our fourth grade teacher, Sara Lasiter!  She was chosen as the district's Phenomenal Teacher of the Week! 

She was nominated by Olivia Brown (current 5th grader) because, according to Olivia, Mrs. Lasiter "helped her to understand fractions and taught her to be a better writer" when she was in her 4th grade class last year.

Kindergarten 2016-2017

Nickajack is proud to implement a strand of Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion with two classes of Kindergarten students during the 2016-2017 school year.  This unique model provides instruction and support for students in learning both languages.  Students will split their day between instruction in Spanish and English. 

  • Our plan is to grow this program each year through Grade 5.

  • Our hope is to instill cultural competence and enhance communication among our students and community. 

  • Our vision and mission is to develop and honor the greatness in everyone and help every child to become a leader. 

  • Our Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion program will help students to become
    bi-lingual and bi-literate in an ever changing world.

Nickajack conducted internal audits of our building to examine our arrival and dismissal procedures as well as our overall ability to keep our students safe and secure during these parts of our day and throughout.  Please know the safety and security of our students is our number one priority.  A letter outlining changes is attached to the image above.  Thank you for your understanding and doing your part to keep us safe!

Attendance Matters

CCRPI stands for College and Career Readiness Performance Index and it is the way the state now evaluates a school's performance. There are several factors that contribute to the overall score including Student Absences.

 Change of Transportation Policy

It is our goal to ensure that all Nickajack students are transported safely to their afternoon destination. To achieve this goal, any change to your child's afternoon transportation must be submitted in writing to our front office staff.  We will not accept any verbal requests on the phone or any requests sent via email.

We ask parents to make all transportation changes clear to the student before they leave home in the morning.  Parents should send a note with the change information (see below) with the student.

However, there are times when a change is necessary after the instructional day has begun.  In these instances the request must be in writing and faxed to the school no later than 1:30 p.m. on the day of the change.

Required Information:       Transportation Change Form

  • Student's name

  • Teacher's name

  • Date(s) the change will be effective

  • Identify the new mode of transportation

  • Parent's name (printed)

  • Parent's signature

  • Parent contact information - i.e. cell phone number, email, etc.

Please call to verify that your fax was received.  Do not send transportation changes to the teachers via email.
