Tapp's Debate Team

Tapp's Debate Team won first place in the state tournament.

Tapp's Debate Team

They did it again! The Tapp Debate Team captured the # 1 Speaker Award (Kaylah Holloway) and the #1 Team Award (Kaylah Holloway and Camille Trotman) at the Atlanta Urban Debate League, John Lewis Tournament, last Saturday, March 5, 2016. This is the second year in a row that the Tapp Debate Team has walked away with the # 1 placement at the John Lewis Tournament.

Kudos go out to all of the debate team members: Jake Ayers (7th grade), Kareena De Leon, Chidimma Onyirimba, Xzarria Peterson, Alexis Jones, Jesse Nwagwa,  and N-E-V-A Moore (8thgrade). They also won speaker and team medals.

These students are amazing! They have sacrificed a Saturday each month since the beginning of school to compete at various school locations across Metro Atlanta. They have read, analyzed deciphered, revised, rewrote, evaluated and synthesized all the evidence, so they can be as successful as they have been all year. Next and final challenge for the year, State Championships which will be held on March 19, at Georgia State University.
