A special congratulations goes to Kelvin Zhang, 8th grade, who won 4th place in the math competition.

Showing Tapp Pride

Makayla prepared and delivered personal care packages for all the children at Calvary Children's Home. She was inspired to do this heartfelt act when Tapp partnered with West Cobb Chiropratic in their annual canned food drive for Calvary. Makayla is a very bright, caring 6th grade student with an extremely bright future ahead of her.

Men of Tapp

Tuesday, November 10th, the Men of Tapp leadership organization inducted 12 new members. These young men joined 13 existing members by making a commitment to become positive "change agents" in their school and community as well as leaders in a global society.

Congratulation to Casey Hobbs for being selected as a winner for the 2016 WaterSmart waterArt calendar contest.

Congratulations to Hassan Goggins for being selected to State Superintendent Richard Woods’ Student Advisory Council for the 2015-2016 school year. He was selected from a pool of more than 1,500 middle school and high school students across the state.  Throughout the school year, this council will meet with Superintendent Woods to discuss the impact of state policies in the classroom, other issues related to education, and will serve as the Superintendent’s ambassadors.

8th grade social studies teachers, Mr. Thompson, Mrs. Rauscher, Ms. Lyons and Ms. Wilcox (student teacher) are ready to provide an authentic learning experience for all their students.

Georgia Parent Survey

Tapp Middle School Parents, we need your input! As stakeholders, and partners in our school, your opinions are very important to us. Please consider taking about 15 minutes of your time to complete the Georgia Parent Survey.

The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions. You may complete the survey on your personal computer, smartphone or tablet. Parents may complete the Georgia Parent Survey at Tapp Middle School during conference week (11/19/2015 - 11/23/2015) in the media center or click on this link:  http://apps.gadoe.org/schoolclimate/parents.nsf/Survey.xsp.
All parents are being asked to participate in the Georgia Parent Survey because the data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.
Thank you.

Apple For Your Teacher

Superior Plumbing and the Marietta Daily Journal (MDJ) have teamed up to give a local teacher, from Kindergarten to 12th grade, an iPad each week of the 2015-2016 school year.  The first winner will be announced the week of October 1, 2015 and then consecutively each week through the end of May, 2016.
Parents and students can go to http://mdj.secondstreetapp.com/2015_apple_teacher/ to nominate a teacher. Entries can also be submitted by visiting the MDJ online @
www.mdjonline.com and
clicking on the “Apple for Teachers” icon on the right rail. The Marietta Daily Journal staff will select a winner from the nominations each week and present the iPad to the winner.  A photo of the weekly winner with their students will appear in the Marietta Daily Journal print and online editions.
The MDJ advises any CCSD staff who would like to participate, that they write a brief statement, 100 words or less, explaining why they think the person deserves to be one of The Marietta Daily Journal and Superior Plumbing’s “Apple for your Teacher” weekly winners.
Questions can be directed to the MDJ in care of this email address
