Milestones 2016 Information

Parents,
In an effort to help Grade 3-5 students prepare for the upcoming Milestone assessment, we are posting some helpful dates and documents below.

*Students who do not pass the re-test in the above areas may not be promoted to the next grade level.

** Students in danger of not passing the Milestone assessment will be sent a Retention Concern Notification Letter by  January 29th. These students have not shown grade level proficiency in one or more areas listed on the letter.

2016-17 School Choice

The Cobb County School District is again offering School Choice (HB 251and SB10) transfers for the 2016-2017 school year. Individual school capacity information and applications will be available beginning February 1, 2016 on the District website. For more information, please see our 2016-17 School Choice webpage.


   Dismissal Procedures:

Dismissal changes and checkouts must be completed by 1:45 p.m.


Gimme 5 Campaign
The 10th Annual, Gimme 5 for Education Campaign is underway!  Please see information coming home with your child on Monday, February 8th.  Please return the included envelope by Friday, February 12.  All donations go directly to fund  programs such as teacher grants, ASP scholarships, and scholarships for Cobb County Seniors. If our school raises $250 or more, 20% of funds will be given back to Varner Elementary.  If our school raises $750 or more, then 50% of all donations with be given back to Varner Elementary.
