Parent Night will begin in the theater with a general presentation for rising 6th graders. After the presentation, students and parents will attend 3 engaging sessions of their choice. Topics include: advanced content, special education, subject specific presentations, connections, organizational skills for middle school students and strategies to support students at home. All sessions will highlight the integration of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program in the classroom.  

Students will also get a first look at the 6th grade classrooms, lockers, media center, cafeteria and clubs.

La reunión iniciara en el teatro con una presentación general, luego los padres y estudiantes  tendrán la oportunidad de ir a 3 diferentes sesiones en salones de clases e interactuar con los maestros, utilizar algunos de los equipos electrónicos que los estudiantes tendrán  al llegar a sexto año escolar.  El departamento de música hará una presentación y tendrán sus registraciones abiertas.  Todas las sesiones tendrán el contexto  de escuela media  internacional

Tendrán también la oportunidad de realizar un recorrido visitando los salones, la biblioteca, cafetería, información sobre los diferentes clubes etc.

Sábado, 25 de Abril del 2015 desde las 9:00AM-12:00PM.

Las familias participarán en sesiones cortas para aprender estrategias para leer y mantener las habilidades en aumento durante el tiempo de verano, aprender acerca de las oportunidades de lectura en el verano y participar en la venta de libros a mitad

 del precio. Cada familia participante recibirá un libro gratis como regalo de la Oficina de Título I del Distrito Escolar de Cobb County.

Kindergarten and new First Grade Enrollment

Also needed are the names and phone numbers of persons who may pick up your child if you cannot be reached, and the name and phone number of your child’s doctor.  For further enrollment/immunization information, please see the CCSD website http://www.cobbk12.org/aboutccsd/enrollment/

Kindergarten students must be five (5) years old and first grade students must be six (6) years old on or before September 1, 2015.

Bring the following documents and information to enrollment:

1.   State law requires a Certificate of Immunization (form #3231) and a Certificate of Vision, Hearing, Dental, and Nutritional Screening (form #3300) available from physicians or the Cobb County Health Department.  Form #3300 certificate must be dated within 12 months of the first day of school.

2.   Proof of birth: A certified copy of Birth Certificate, Military ID, Passport,

2015-16 School Choice

The Cobb County School District is again offering School Choice (HB 251 and SB10) transfers for the 2015-2016 school year.  Individual school capacity information and applications will be available beginning February 1, 2015 on the District website.  For more information, please see our 2015-16 School Choice webpage.

REMINDERS FOR THE NEW YEAR

School starts promptly at 7:50a.m.

 Any student coming into school 7:50 a.m. or later will be marked tardy and must be signed in by an adult.

Breakfast is served from 7:10a.m.-7:45a.m. Please have your student(s) here on time to eat breakfast.

Student checkouts end at 1:50p.m. No student will be called up for dismissal after 1:50p.m.

All students (car riders and walkers) should be picked up by 2:35p.m.

Any student that has been absent needs to have a doctor’s note or a parent’s excuse stating why the student was absent.(Send in by the third day after the date of absence.)

Any student checked out before 11:00 a.m. will be considered absent. If they were checked out for a doctor’s appointment, an excuse from the doctor’s office is needed for an excused absence (unless called by the clinic).
