The Comprehensive Local Education Agency Improvement Plan Meeting is mandated by the federal government for use of Title I, Part A funds.  On Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 9:00 AM, the Cobb County School District Title I Department invites the public, along with teachers, principals, and parents to give input on the Cobb County School District’s Federal Programs, the Comprehensive LEA Improvement Plan (CLIP), and the LEA Parental Involvement Policy.  The location is 514 Glover Street Marietta, Ga. 30060/Board Room.

Summer Reading 2014
The Cobb County School District’s Library Media Education and English Language Arts Departments have partnered with the Cobb County Public Library System (CCPLS), Marietta City Schools, and Smyrna Public Library (free to City of Smyrna residents) to provide complementary summer reading programs for grades PK-5. The theme for this summer’s reading program is “Fizz. Boom. Read.”

Substitutes Needed

The School District will host TWO Substitute Job Fairs on Tuesday 4/22/14from 9:00 am until 11:00 am.  For applicants interested in substituting for the North Area Schools (North of Powder Springs including North Marietta, East Cobb, Kennesaw and Acworth) the job fair will be held at Piedmont Baptist Church located at 570 Piedmont Road, Marietta, 30066.  For applicants interested in substituting for the South Area Schools (Includes Smyrna, Powder Springs, Austell, and Mableton—South Marietta area), the job fair will be held at Skyview ElementarySchool located at 5805 Dunn Road, Mableton, 30126. To attend applicants must complete the following REQUIREMENTS:

1-RSVP by sending an email to EITHER  OR You can only RSVP to one fair and this should be the geographic area you plan to work as a substitute. You must RSVP by 4/15/14.

2-Bring a resume with you to the fair detailing all of your work and educational experience.

3-Be prepared to briefly meet with an Administrator.

The first meeting will be Thursday, November 14, 2013 6:30 PM at Rose Garden (1870 Teasley Drive, Smyrna 30080).

Our school has a security system for entering the building through the front doors. With this system, visitors need to "Buzz-In" after 8:10 AM.

On February 9, 2012 the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) received waivers from ten requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, as amended by No Child Left Behind (NCLB) of 2001. ESEA/NCLB requires that parents or guardians who have children attending a Title I school be notified of the school’s academic achievement as well as the school’s designation under Georgia’s ESEA Flexibility Waiver.
