All Cobb County schools will dismiss 45 minutes later than normal dismissal on Monday, August 21st due to the solar eclipse.  Student safety is our main priority and the eclipse is scheduled to happen in our area at dismissal time for elementary students. Please be in car rider line or at bus stops 45 minutes later than usual.Thank you!!
K-2 students will not be allowed to go outside to view the eclipse and will watch it on livestream video with their class/teacher.  3rd-5th students will be allowed to go outside with their class/teacher to watch the eclipse IF they have a signed permission form turned in by Friday, August 18 AND protective solar eclipse sunglasses. If they do not have BOTH, they will not allowed outside during the eclipse and will watch the eclipse on livestream video. If you would like to pick up your child early to view the eclipse with you, please pick them up in the office between 11:15 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  We will not dismiss students between 2:00-3:00 for safety reasons.  If you have questions, please contact Mrs. Shackelford at melissa.shackelford@cobbk12.org.  Thanks!

Please collect, cut out, and turn in Box Tops (in a ziploc with child's name and grade level) to Mrs. Spence in the gym.  There is a grade level competition to see which one turns in the most Box Tops.  Also, any student who turns in 100 or more Box Tops throughout the year will be invited to a breakfast at the end of the year.  Box Top money is used to purchase new PE equipment.  Thank you for your help!!

independenceIndependence Week

Beginning Monday, August 7, our students will demonstrate their independence by walking to their classrooms in the mornings without adults accompanying them!  They know the way, they will show the way!!



mark your calendarCobb County School District will have several EARLY RELEASE DAYS in 2017-18.  Please note the following dates on which students will be released at 12:30 p.m.  You will need to be in the car rider line or at bus stops approximately 2 hours earlier than usual.  ASP will be open as usual until 6:00.   The dates are:  August 30,  October 12, October 16-20 (Conference Week), December 19-20, March 14, May 22-23.



Registration for 2017-18 School Year

Monday-Friday 8:30-11:30 a.m. only! New students will begin classes the following day after registration is complete.

There are FIVE (5) main documents required of ALL students prior to being enrolled in the District. To help ensure that the enrollment process for your child goes as smoothly as possible, please refer to the following items:

1. CERTIFICATE OF IMMUNIZATION: as required by Georgia Law 20-2-771:

  • Georgia Form 3231

2. CERTIFICATE OF VISION, HEARING, DENTAL, AND NUTRITIONAL SCREENING: as required by Georgia Law 20-2-770 (Georgia Form 3300)

3. PROOF OF BIRTH DATE: for students enrolling in kindergarten (the age of five on or before Sept. 1) or first grade (the age of six on or before Sept 1),


Any Two items from the list below are required by the person(s) enrolling a child in the District.

  1. home ownership title
  2. lease or rental agreement
  3. current utility monthly statement

5. SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER: According to Georgia Law 20-2-150d; An official copy of the student’s Social Security card/number is required for enrollment.


6. A valid transcript and a withdrawal form from the student’s previous school is essential for appropriate academic placement.

7. For those students enrolling in the Special Education Program: the parent/guardian may provide a copy of the student’s latest IEP.

8. Custodial Documents: The District may request proof of custody in situations involving multiple adults claiming control of the same student.

Additional Information:

The School May Also:

  1. request proof of custody or custody documentation; or
  2. suggest that the adult with whom the student lives obtain legal guardianship.
  3. other information the school deems necessary for proper placement.
  4. request proof of age and name verification; and

Provide the names and phone numbers of persons who may pick up your child if you cannot be reached, and the name and phone number of your child's doctor.

- The school building opens at 7:20 a.m. Please do not drop students off before 7:20 a.m.
- School starts at 7:50 AM
- Breakfast will be served until 7:45 AM
- Student check-out is not permitted after 1:45 PM
- All transportation changes must be in the form of a hand written note with a signature and a date. We cannot accept changes that are sent via email, fax, text, or phone.

Cobb County School District is now offering Office 365 to students. For more information please visit the district’s Instructional Technology page. The student username was sent to parents in an email from the district. It is similar to an email address. The student password for Office 365 is their student number.
