Congratulations to DMS eighth grader Charles Aquino for winning 1st place in the Computer-Aided Design (CAD) competition at the 2025 National Technology Student Association Conference held in Nashville, TN in July. The theme for this year’s conference was “Tune In To Technology”. Approximately 8500 participants competed in Nashville. Participants in the CAD event had to demonstrate their understanding of CAD fundamentals to create a two-dimensional (2D) graphic representation of an engineering part or object with various views and dimensions.

Durham Middle School was one of two middle schools from Georgia with a first-place win at Nationals. This is quite an honor for a second-year Durham Middle School TSA Chapter, advised by Dr. Barber (STEM Teacher), Dr. Grant (8th/9th Physical Science Teacher), and Mrs. Hartrampf (STEM Teacher).
