The Science Fair is for Everyone

Work alone or with a friend. Projects are Due December 4. Judging will take place on the 11th and an Awards Ceremony will follow at 6:30 PM. Information can be found on the Science Fair Notebook.
 

Cobb Regional Technology Competition - CRTC
January 25, 2020

The CRTC is geared toward students in grades 3-12. Students can compete individually or in teams of two. The competition will be held at Kennesaw Mountain High School, Kennesaw, Georgia.  Registration opens in November and closes December 20, 2019.   For more information, please visit:   cobbrtc.weebly.com.  If you have any questions, please contact Lori.Schulman.

Students can get help with their projects from 7:15-7:45 AM, in the 509 Lab, on the following days:
3rd Grade - Tuesdays
4th Grade - Wednesdays
5th Grade - Thursdays

your enrollment documentation to Garrison Mill. 


Nominations for School Council

It is now time to nominate parents in our community to be on our School Council.  Please complete the 2019-2020 School Council Nomination Form and return in hard copy to the Garrison Mill front office.  Please note this is a 2 year commitment.

Iowa Assessment Information

Students are assessed in the fall on the Iowa Assessments. This is a norm-referenced assessment that measures student achievement in comparison to other students nationwide. Students in grades 3, 5, and 7 are tested in Reading, Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Read More...

The Blackboard Connect Parent Portal is an online system designed to allow you to customize how you receive notifications from your child's school as well as from the district. Notifications can now be received by phone, text message, or email.

General Information

Late Arrivals and
Early Dismissals

For the safety of all students, if your child arrives after 7:50 AM,  you must sign your child in at the PTA desk in the lobby. No transportation changes or dismissals are  permitted after 1:40 PM.


Inclement Weather

We encourage our staff and parents to listen to News/Talk 750 WSB (750 on the AM radio dial) when winter weather threatens. In addition, the News/Talk 750 WSB website provides a complete and frequently updated list of school closings online at: www.wsbradio.com.

In the event of an early dismissal due to inclement weather, the After School Program (ASP) will also be closed.



Bus Pass

Students are permitted to ride a different bus or get off at a different stop, if there is a childcare need. The Bus Pass form must be completed in advance and returned to the front office for authorization. Students may not ride a different bus for playdates, parties, sleepovers, etc.
